19/05/2011, Thursday

09/05/2011, Monday

Today Mr. Sadrakh called some of us in front of the class, so he can see how far we know about John Williams, plus we were also studying.

05/05/2011, Thursday

Today all of us had to perform in front of the whole class. I definitely needed practice because I didn't remember it, plus Mr. Sadrakh could see me shaking and I couldn't stop. We had to write our opinions on other people's performances.

02/05/2011, Monday

Today Mr. Sadrakh asked if anyone was ready to perform in front of the whole class. No one raised their hand except for Nadya. He melody was stuck in my head the whole day.

28/04/2011, Thursday

Today Mr. Sadrakh talked about what music meant to him and asked what it meant to us. We also talked more about John Williams.

25/04/2011, Monday

Today Mr. Sadrakh was absent, so Mr. Herry was his substitute and he gave us a handout on John Williams and we talked about him.

18/04/2011, Monday

Today we had to submit our Finale and Mr. Sadrakh told some of us to reprint it and to redo what was wrong. Some students had to play their melodies on their own instruments.

14/04/2011, Thursday

Today we were supposed to submit the Finale (the hard copy of our melody composition), but Mr. Sadrakh forgot to tell us, so he told us that it's due next Monday. He showed us how to use the program and he also tested some of our melody, including mine.

11/04/2011, Monday

Today, Mr. Sadrakh checked our melody composition and he gave us our scores for the written assessment and our personal engagement. I'm satisfied with my scores.

Today Mr. Sadrakh checked the progress of our melody composition. He taught us the pattern of A, A1, B, A1. This is just a pattern to help us understand how to make the melody easier. There should be 32 bars in total and Mr. Sadrakh made an example of it.

28/02/2011, Monday

Today Kimberly didn't go to class and because of that, we talked about how we could help her in many ways. Mr. Sadrakh asked every one of us to sit in front and talked about our experiences with Kimberly and what we can do to help her with whatever situation she is in. I hope she'll get better.

21/02/2011, Monday

Today we discussed about the scales again since some people still didn't get it. Mr. Sadrakh made 4 boys stand and talk to the door because they still couldn't answer his questions - the questions that he asked for several instruments. And we skipped Instrument Class for that.

17/02/2011, Thursday

My Music Class talked about scales; the natural scale, the one sharp scale, the two sharp scale, the three sharp scale, the four sharp scale, and the five sharp scale. Certain people had a homework about it because they couldn't answer Mr. Sadrakh's question, but I didn't get the homework, which is good news.

14/02/2011, Monday

Today we had the Music Written Assessment. It was sort of difficult memorizing all the classical music periods, but I think I did quite well.

10/02/2011, Thursday

We didn't have Music Class today because we have the ISA - International School's Assessment.

Today some other people redo the test (singing). There was also 9 people that sang in front, including me, which means we are good. We also read the worksheet given to us last week. We're gonna have a written test about it on 10/02/2011.

27/01/2011, Thursday

Today we sang individually in front of the whole class. It was an assessment. Even though I practiced, I was sort of not ready because I was nervous. When I sang, almost my whole body was shaking, including my voice, so I think it wasn't that good, but I had confidence, which means I was brave enough to sing in front of the whole class, and I'm very proud of myself for that.

24/01/2011, Monday

Today we learned about interval. It is the difference between each note, for example, the difference between note C to not D is 1. We also have a homework about interval, 8 numbers. Learning the interval is not that difficult.

20/01/2011, Thursday

Today we learned how to sing "Favorite Things". It was originally sung by Julie Andrews, from "The Sound of Music". We are going to have an assessment next week, singing "Facorite Things" individually next Thursday. Before we practiced, we warmed up first with Mr. Hary.

First Day of Music :)

Today was the first day of music class. It went kind of good. Well, all the students that joined guitar almost auditioned. Thank God we didn't. I joined the guitar instrument class with Karisa, Evelyn, Ashley, Alicia, Nadia, and Gio. The instrument class was fun. I learned how to play some of the song "Tears in Heaven" - Eric Clapton. My guitar teacher is Mr. John and my theory teacher is Mr. Sadrakh.
